Now that the snow and ice has gone, for the time being at least, cycling can resume and Wexford Wheelers met up again for their tour last Sunday. A small group met up at the Bullring but were joined by more cyclists on the road. As it was safer to stick to main roads, the N25 between Wexford and Rosslare Harbour saw plenty of action.
While our hamper race fell to the weather there are other events going ahead and next Sunday Comeragh CC host a cycle in aid of the Lions Club. Start is at 9.30 from Waterford Regional Sports Centre and there are distances of 30, 40 and 50 miles. Donations accepted at the start.
Both South East Road Club and Comeragh Cycling Club are hosting hamper races next weekend and full details can been seen at www.southeastroadclub.com and www.comeraghcc.com.
All in the club wish a speedy recovery to Sean Nolan who recently underwent an operation on his leg. While he is likely to be off the bike for a while we hope to see him back in plenty of time for the warmer weather.
The presence of all members (of eligible age!) is requested at Simon’s Place on Friday 17th from 8:30pm for the club’s Christmas ‘social’ at which the clubperson of the year will be named.
Wexford Wheelers meet up on Sunday mornings in the Bullring, Wexford at 9.30. There are usually three groups; race training, touring and underage/novice. All are welcome to join us. Helmets must be worn.
