After 3 rounds of the Bike Shop League the race is still open with the top 8 places in the senior race being taken by individuals who had not scored any points in the last 2 rounds which leaves the overall table quite crowded and very open to anyone taking advantage.
Tuesday nights Senior race saw the handicap groups just about staying away with a 28 second gap at the finish while the scratch group and the A3/A4’s played out the usual hairy gallop to the line (aka – lets see can anyone beat Davy Walsh in a sprint). The following are the results:
1st – Phil Skelton – Unattached
2nd – Mylie Kavanagh – Slaney CC
3rd – Mick Byrne – Slaney CC
4th – Mick Howe – Slaney CC
5th – Paddy Dunne – Slaney CC
6th – Davey Walsh – Wexford Wheelers
7th – Anthony Doyle – Unattached
8th – Paul Flynn – Dan Morrissey Carrick Wheelers
While the daddys were racing the younger generations were taking part in their respective races. The U-8 race was dominated by Walshes from Wexford while in the U10 & U-12 races the Thatchers again showed their dominance. Niall Kelly again got the better of Andrew Maguire in the U-14 race and Peirs Deignan made it up 1 place this week to win in the U-16 category.
