Last autumn the ladies of Kullurin Rowing Club led by Edel Freeman decided to undertake a cycle to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. Their ambitious plan was to cycle from Bray Head to Wexford in November to highlight their very worthwhile objective. The ladies teamed up with Wexford Wheelers to get in some training before undertaking what was likely to be a challenging cycle against prevailing winds and with every possibility of rain. They were joined on the trip from Bray by club members Phil Lynch and Annis Kehoe and some of the gentlemen cyclists from the club went to give moral and occasional physical support! from the county boundary down to Ferrycarrig Hotel where they were greeted by friends, supporters and representatives from the Irish Cancer Society.
The culmination of the fundraising resulted in the presentation of a cheque for €6593 to Kevin Delaney of the Irish Cancer Society at a reception hosted by Edel Freeman and her family yesterday evening
