Wexfird Wheelers Cyclists were out in force for the Liam Bennett Memorial Cycle in Aid of Crumlin Children’s Hospital which took place on a frosty St. Stephen’s Day. Early telephoning communication from the Celtic Link Team in Kilmore indicated that roads in the Barony were treacherous and so the route was altered to avoid secondary roads . A large group headed to Rosslare Harbour with some of the more energetic continuing to Enniscorthy and back.
The cold weather didn’t deter some hardy cyclists braving the low temperatures for the regular Sunday spin from the Bullring. The touring cyclists headed to Ferns with a welcome stop for coffee while the training group took in the Enniscorthy – New Ross loop.
However some of the training group turned off for Adamstown and it can be reliably reported that some of this group took a tumble in the icy conditions but thankfully without any injuries being sustained!
Club membership can be renewed on Monday 4th Jan at .7.30 pm in the Riverbank Hotel ; fresh supplies of club clothing with also be available.
